Job summary

Amity Foundation seeks compassionate counselors (Counselor II/III) to deliver rehabilitation programming within a State Prison setting in California. The role focuses on CBI classes, individual sessions, and progress documentation to support re-entry and community wellbeing.

Certification as an AOD Counselor is required (and the Counselor III role requires one year of full-time experience). This temporary, on-site position offers meaningful contribution to the community and professional growth

Qualifications

• Counselor II must be certified as an AOD Counselor.
• Counselor III must be certified as an AOD Counselor with one year of full-time experience.
• Must be certified to be considered (CAADE, BBS, CADTP, CCAPP)

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based and standardized curriculum to participants.
• Conduct class and individual sessions to develop release prevention/action plans and/or provide make-up work.
• Evaluate and document the progress of participants assigned to their classes.
• Document delivery of CBI programming services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations for participation and completion.
• Work collaboratively with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institutions, and CDCR contracted staff.
• Other related duties as assigned.
