Job description

Two Barrels is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to maintain system stability, security, and efficiency. You will collaborate with DevOps teams to develop tools and automation that enhance operational effectiveness.

Your primary responsibility is proactive problem prevention, with quick resolution and learning from incidents when they occur. We emphasize ownership and accountability, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Wage:

up to $175,000/ Year

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 2+ years in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration in production.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Sentry, or New Relic.
  • Ability to design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant systems and lead incident response efforts.
  • Experience in performance tuning, database optimization, and caching strategies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis, Memcached).
  • Proven track record of improving reliability, reducing operational toil, and fostering resilience and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Leadership in reliability initiatives like post-incident reviews, capacity planning, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails environments.
  • Familiarity with the Grafana observability stack and tools like Alloy, Loki, Tempo, Prometheus.
  • In-depth AWS experience, including ECS, EKS, Route 53, etc.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams to enhance service reliability and operational excellence.
  • Skill in troubleshooting complex production issues and applying SRE best practices.
  • Commitment to operational efficiency and system resilience improvements.
