Job description

The Waldorf School of Garden City is seeking a Lead Nursery Class Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

Our diverse faculty works out of Rudolf Steiner’s picture of child development and, through collaborative engagement, strives to create an environment of creativity and initiative. Our school adheres to the Shared Agreements of WECAN and the Eight Principles of Waldorf Education put forth by AWSNA. We believe that diverse perspectives enrich our educational community and encourage applications from BIPOC candidates and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Ideal candidates will possess warmth, a joyful disposition, and a commitment to deepening their understanding of child development and creating a nurturing learning environment for young children.

This position offers the opportunity to join a well-established Early Childhood Program with three Nurseries, three Mixed Age Kindergartens, and a robust Parent and Child program.

Nursery Teachers enjoy:

  • A rich mentorship program
  • Paid professional development
  • Collaborative colleagues
  • Support from an Early Childhood Program School Chair
  • Leadership growth opportunities

Applicants must have completed Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Training and hold a Bachelor’s Degree.

We provide competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, and disability insurance, a school-funded HSA, a retirement account, and a salary range of $55,000 to $85,000.
