Job summary

The Waldorf School of Orange County is seeking a Resource Teacher to support lower school and early childhood teachers by identifying and applying intervention strategies to improve learning outcomes. You will collaborate with faculty, develop educational plans, assess students, and maintain documentation while modeling Waldorf values and maintaining confidentiality.

Regular in-person attendance is required at the Costa Mesa campus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Waldorf Extra Lesson Certificate required.
  • IEP/504 familiarity and/or experience required.
  • First Aid and CPR certificates are required by employment conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with lower school and EC teachers to organize first grade readiness.
  • Work with individual students and develop intervention plans.
  • Create and oversee implementation of educational plans and assessments.
  • Proctor tests and ensure appropriate accommodations.
  • Attend related meetings and maintain student records.

Job description

Resource Teacher

SUMMARY: The Resource Teacher works with and supports teachers in identifying, developing, and applying assessment and instructional intervention strategies designed to improve student learning in specific areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive.   • Work in collaboration with lower school and EC teachers to organize and facilitate first grade readiness
  • Work with individual students
  • Create and oversee implementation of educational plans
  • Manage assessment for applicants
  • Collaborate with Admission Director on new student applicants and attend related interviews
  • Facilitate and interpret academic assessments
  • Teach support classes and/or blocks as designated
  • Provide substitution as needed
  • Assist with the selection and production of instructional and supplementary materials/supplies
  • Track and maintain learning goals and strategies
  • Proctor any tests that require more time or other accommodations
  • Attend related meetings (Care Group, Faculty, etc.)
  • Maintain necessary documentation for students’ records
  • Continue professional growth through participation in educational opportunities
  • Position requires regular in-person attendance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Waldorf Extra Lesson Certificate
  • IEP/504 familiarity and/or experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certificate in Waldorf Teacher Training
  • Credentialed Teacher and/or Educational Therapist Certificate
  • Educational Therapist experience
  • Resource Specialist Certificate
  • Advanced Degree in Education
