Job description

Rudolf Steiner School seeks an Elementary Grades Assistant Teacher to support classes in Grades 1 - 6 for the 2025-2026 school year. Ideally, strong candidates for the position will either be currently enrolled in, or have completed, Waldorf teacher training, will have experience working with elementary school aged students in the classroom setting, and have proficiency in math, reading, and writing instruction.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include:

• Work collaboratively with lead teachers
• Instruct students in small groups in math or English language arts
• Support student work, plan lessons, grade assignments
• Possess a growth mindset and be willing to receive feedback and learn
• Regular communication with students, colleagues, and parents
• Full participation in school life including faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, evening events for current and prospective parents, special school events, and more

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Completion of Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred
• Interest in and appreciation for Waldorf Education
• Commitment to professional growth including further education in Waldorf teaching
• Versatility, enthusiasm, punctuality, and creativity
• An ability to collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively, and show positivity in the workplace
• Commitment to working with the principles of Waldorf Education including human diversity and dignity
