Job description

Asheville Waldorf School is seeking a combined 1st/2nd Grade teacher to join our school faculty starting July 1 to teach in the 2025/2026 school year.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have completed their Waldorf Grades Training and have experience as a teacher in a Waldorf classroom. Teachers new to Waldorf education are also welcome if they have a serious interest in developing themselves as Waldorf Grades teachers. We seek teachers with a deep understanding of child development, an interest in Anthroposophy, a love of working with young children, and the enthusiasm and energy to be involved in a school entering its twelfth year, as it moves to a permanent forest-based location near town and continues Waldorf accreditation.

About Asheville Waldorf School:

The Asheville Waldorf School is in its thirteenth school year. This year, we offer two mixed-age kindergartens, parent-child classes, and grades one through six.

We became an associate member of WECAN in 2017 and of AWSNA in 2018. Our organization features a cohesive and dedicated faculty, a solid board of directors, a committed administration, and a loving and involved community of parents and families.

About Asheville, North Carolina:

Asheville is an ideal place to live, renowned for its beautiful outdoors, surrounded by three mountainous National Forests, and its vibrant arts, crafts, and music culture. The city offers numerous restaurants and microbreweries, making it a popular tourist destination. Local, sustainable agriculture is prevalent, supporting seventeen farmers’ markets for fewer than 100,000 residents. If you enjoy eating local, organic food, participating in community music events, and engaging with art, Asheville is a wonderful place to be.
