Priority Ambulance - Critical Care Paramedic
Join us as a Critical Care Paramedic at Priority OnDemand. This role involves providing care and treatment to chronically or acutely ill and injured patients in a ground transport environment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team to adhere to established care standards for the Critical Care Division, aiming to deliver superior patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based patient care in collaboration with patients and their families, coordinating with healthcare team members
- Drive the ambulance when needed to support staffing and operational requirements
- Administer pharmacologic agents and intravenous fluids during inter-hospital transports
- Operate and maintain equipment such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, hi-flow systems, and IV pumps
- Assist in maintaining ambulance readiness, cleanliness, and supplies
- Assess physical, emotional, bio-physical, and spiritual needs to provide direct patient care and evaluate outcomes
- Incorporate patient-centered care principles
- Collaborate with online medical control physicians for complex patient management during transport
- Accurately communicate and document patient clinical information verbally and in writing
- Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain a safe environment during ambulance operations
- Provide basic patient comfort measures and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Completion of an accredited paramedic program
- Completion of an approved emergency vehicle driving course prior to orientation completion
- 3-5 years of experience as a Paramedic in a high-acuity, high-volume EMS system; Critical Care experience preferred
- TN Paramedic license or National Registry Paramedic with TN certification upon orientation completion
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications
- Critical Care Paramedic certification (CCP, FP-C) preferred or obtained within 18 months
- Unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry at least 125 pounds, with assistance up to 250 pounds, to a height of 33 inches and a distance of 10 feet
- High clinical competence and effective communication skills
- Basic math skills
