Job summary

BSA Health System, located in Amarillo, Texas, is seeking a day shift, full-time Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic Authorization Specialist to coordinate and process prior authorizations for procedures and treatments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Prior experience in a customer service role.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process prior authorizations as requested by providers.
• Obtain and process initial and re-authorizations as required by insurance providers.
• Notify patient of appointments and provide any instructions required for the appointment.
• Enter prior authorization documentation into the electronic health record (EHR).
• Communicate patient financial responsibility for healthcare services to patients and guarantors.
• Create cost estimates for scheduled services and procedures.
• Collect deposits, copayments, deductibles, and other patient payments.
• Perform additional prior authorization responsibilities and clerical work as needed.
