Patronus AI is seeking a proactive prior authorization specialist to join our frontier AI research team. You will submit and track authorizations against payer criteria for Medicare, Medicaid and commercial plans, handling pend and peer-to-peer requests.

No AI background required; you will help demonstrate how frontier models are evaluated in real-world workflows, while working asynchronously and meeting agreed deadlines in a flexible, part-time capacity.

Responsabilités

• Explain the work steps, documents, decision points, and where processes go wrong.
• Review authorization packets, payer criteria, medical necessity docs, pend/denial notices, peer-to-peer requests, and referrals.
• Write scoring rubrics that yield the same verdict by two reviewers.
• Create new, original tasks from fictional scenarios and document your reasoning.
• Work independently, meet deadlines, and incorporate reviewer feedback.

Pay: $40–$60/hr

Commitment: Flexible, typically 10–20 hours per week

Patronus AI is a frontier lab building simulation research and infrastructure to accelerate progress toward human-aligned AGI. We're looking for prior authorization specialists who do this work today. In your role you submit and track prior authorizations against payer criteria, handle pends and peer-to-peer requests, and keep turnaround times for Medicare, Medicaid and commercial plans. You'll help us show frontier AI models how that work is really done, and where they get it wrong. You don't need an AI background.

What you'll do

• Explain how the work is done in your role: the steps, the documents, who decides what, and where things go wrong.
• Review realistic task packets, such as authorization requests, payer criteria and medical necessity documentation, pend and denial notices, peer-to-peer requests and referral records, and flag anything a practitioner would find unrealistic.
• Write scoring rubrics precise enough that two independent reviewers reach the same verdict.
• Create new, original tasks from fictional scenarios, solve them yourself and document your reasoning.
• Work independently and asynchronously, meet agreed deadlines and work in reviewer feedback.
