Position Title: Printing Technician

Job Summary

The Printing Technician is responsible for setting up, adjusting, monitoring, operating, and maintaining a variety of networked digital production imaging systems, including both black-and-white and full-color equipment. Responsibilities include managing the total throughput of duplicating and digital printing jobs received through the campus network in a variety of formats. This position determines the most effective methods for producing high-quality images by utilizing both software and hardware tools to meet the specifications outlined on job tickets and by evaluating color accuracy and print quality.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, set up, adjust, and maintain a wide variety of networked digital production imaging systems.
  • Run various binding, finishing, and ancillary production equipment on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a computer-based storage and retrieval system for digital imaging files.
  • Manage total throughput of duplicating and digital printing jobs received through the campus network.
  • Determine effective methods for producing high-quality images using software and hardware tools.
Reporting Relationship & Location

Reports to: Printing Production Team Leader

Location/Schedule: On-campus, Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Up to one year of related experience in print production.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Print Production or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in print production.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift packages up to 50 pounds routinely, and up to 125 pounds with mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods.
  • Must tolerate exposure to noise, dust, and fumes, and use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Must have adequate vision to make judgments concerning overall quality of finished products.
Salary Range

19.40–23.00 per hour. Offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and overall compensation philosophy.
