Job summary

Lakeside Book Company is seeking a Material Handler experienced in a printing press environment to join our on-site team in Willard, OH. Starting rate is $19.75 per hour with a schedule that will be determined based on promotions to Roll Tender, and is contingent on press room workflow.

Responsibilities include feeding materials, adjusting feeders, delivering plates and components, and assisting with make-ready and maintenance tasks around the press to ensure smooth operation.

Qualifications

• Requires basic knowledge of presswork procedures and materials learned through on the job training.
• Ability to follow instructions to assist in press set up, operation and maintenance.
• Able to operate hand carts, pallet jacks, stackers and hydraulic feed mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Ensure paper or raw materials are loaded in to feeders, hoppers, bins to supply a constant flow of materials while the equipment is running.
• Make adjustments to feeder mechanism based on the size of the paper.
• Deliver equipment components such as plates or spray heads to the equipment for installation.
• Recycle old/discarded plates.
• Provide basic assistance as needed to make-ready the equipment for operation.
• Assist with retrieving plates, hanging plates and recycling/storing plates and other tasks associated with make-ready of the press.
