Job summary

MCC, a global leader in premium labels, is seeking a Press Operator Assistant to join our team in Pennsylvania. This role supports press setup and changes, ensuring production runs meet customer specifications and quality expectations.

Responsibilities include following safety policies, assisting with make-ready, cleaning equipment, and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is reliable, a team player, and able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience.
• Print shop experience helpful but not required.
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket.
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (pass ruler test).
• Ability to pass an eye test (20/20).
• Ability to differentiate colors (color test).
• Ability to input data into a computer.
• Team-oriented with sense of urgency for on-time completion.
• Stand and move around the press area for long periods.
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Specific vision needs: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities
• Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover
• Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment
• Strips plates from cylinders
• Locates dies to and from the press
• May be required to work with a press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light
• Comply with the quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC
• May be required to complete the quality assurance sheet and associated documentation
• Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and the organization of the workspace
• Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned
• Related duties as assigned

We are currently looking for a Press Operator Assistant to join our team. The Press Assistant role is responsible for the setup and support of printing presses in accordance with the printing specifications and customer requirements/expectations.

• Print shop experience helpful, but not required
• Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and in written form); seen as a team player
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)
• Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)
• Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)
• Ability to input data into the computer
• Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
• Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions
• Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch, reaching with arms and hands, and talking and hearing.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally, an employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
