Georgia-Pacific's Dixie Products facility in Darlington, SC, seeks a Printing Operations Supervisor (Performance Coach) to lead safe, efficient printing press operations and a 25-person shift team.

You will focus on Environmental, Health, and Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and building operating capability through coaching, training, and collaboration with engineering and support functions.

Qualifications

T he Pr inting Supervisor / Performance Coach will have overall accountability for leading safe and efficient operation of industrial printing press operation s and will manage a t eam of approximately25 employees on shift.

This is a key leadership role that is primarily responsible for overall shift performance and operating capability with the Printing Department . The successful candidate will act as a performance coach who achieves results by working with and through others in a principled way .

The Darlington Dixie® plant has been in operation for nearly 85 years and is one of thelargest employers in Darlington County. Owned by Georgia-Pacific, the site boasts more than 450 employees and produces plates, bowls, and other tableware products. Affectionately known as “Dixie® Cup” by many in Darlington – the plant shifted its focus to exclusively making plates and bowls in 2020 as part of a major facility upgrade and expansion project. For nearly a century, we've created products that make lives easier. From the first disposable paper cup to our strong and stylish modern plates, the history of Dixie® is one of bringing people together.

Manage team performance:

• Establish shift priorities consistent with the site's vision and current business objectives .
• Ensure all team members have “Roles, Responsibilities, & Expectations” which are aligned with facility and department goals .
• Practice forward accountability by establishing expectations up front , modeling, and coaching desired behaviors .
• Identify and use measures to drive performance and operational discipline .

Press Operations :

• A ccountable for the labor cost , such as overtime , utilization of 3 rd P art y labor, and staffing plan.
• Responsible for p roduct ion metrics which are impacted by the performance and capability of the operati ons (i.e., product quality , material utilization and waste,
• Work with team members to understand critical hazards and risks to safety / product quality , identify and evaluate effectiveness of controls, and ensure resolution of issues.
• Apply good economic thinking to evaluate priorities and address operational issues.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least five (5) years of experience in a role with supervisory or lead responsibility in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
• Leadership experience in a manufacturing, military, or industrial environment with direct reports.
• Experience with training, coaching, and managing people.
• Computer skills: Experience in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience using Kronos, SAP, ICPAQs or other CMMS.
• Direct experience as a supervisor of skilled and semi-skilled workforces.
• Prior experience working in paper and/or food grade manufacturing.
