Job summary

Show Me Your Mumu in Los Angeles is seeking a senior print/textile designer responsible for the full cycle of print development, from concept to production. You will work on main collection, bridal, collaborations, denim, kids and swim, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams.

The role requires strong Adobe Illustrator skills, experience with CAD illustrations, and a track record of delivering prints on a fast-paced team. This is a hybrid position with about three remote days per week.

Responsibilities

• Edit purchase prints by adding graphic elements and adjusting color and size in Illustrator.
• Coordinate Pantone selections with Designers and materials teams.
• Prepare and package files and assets for print vendors.
• Track development timelines with vendors and internal calendars.
• Communicate with vendors daily to resolve printing techniques issues.
• Create exclusive original artwork as needed and ensure copyright of prints.
• Maintain print tracker and update weekly progress with cross-functional teams.

Salary Range:$45.00 To $50.00 Hourly

SUMMARY

The position focuses on print/textile design, scale sizing and original coloring of all custom Mumu prints. Categories including main collection, bridal, collaborations, denim, kids & swim. This role is hybrid and may work 3 days remotely each week. Candidates must be within commuting distance of the Mumu HQ in Downtown Los Angeles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works independently to edit purchase prints - adding graphic elements using illustrator and photo shop, re-coloring and re-sizing of print and print repeats
• Organizes and pulls pantone chip selection alongside Designers
• Packages all files with all necessary elements for initial send out to print vendors
• Tracks print development with outside vendors to ensure smooth development and consistent timelines in conjunction with internal calendar
• Daily communication with vendors regarding improvements and problem-solving regarding printing techniques
• Creates exclusive and original artwork from scratch as needed
• Follows design calendar to ensure all development timelines are met for strike off approvals
• Manages and updates internal print tracker or WIP daily, in order to update creatives on weekly progress
• Works independently with cross-functional teams including the raw materials team for proper execution of production finished goods
• Works closely with the raw materials developer to ensure proper printing techniques
• Creates artwork specification sheets for vendors to follow as guidelines
• Directs the execution of print placements by working with pattern teams to ensure proper execution per style
• Copyrights all Mumuoriginal prints
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must submit portfolio link for consideration
• Comfortable in working in a fast-paced environment, flexible in changing direction as needed
• Familiar and comfortable working in Adobe Suites Apps- specifically Illustrator
• Must be able to execute CAD illustrations in Adobe Illustrator
• PC literate with basic understanding and skills in using keyboard and Microsoft office products
• Candidate must be highly organized with ability to prioritize with a sense of urgencyand be a team player
• Must have experience in measuring garments and garment construction

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 7-10 years’ experience working as an in-house print designer
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree ingraphic or print design
• Dynamic analytical, problem solving and project management abilities- must be a self starter
• Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities
• Knowledge with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Knowledge with Adobe applications- Photoshop & Illustrator
• Able to work and think independently as well as part of a team.
