Overview

Print Team Lead - 2nd Shift role at TC Transcontinental. Shift: 2nd shift, 3pm-11pm, Mon-Fri. Pay: $25.15 + .50 shift differential = $25.65.

Responsibilities
  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards. Champion food safety compliance and readiness, particularly by following and enforcing Safe Quality Food (SQF) and good housekeeping guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of open communication, collaboration, teamwork, continuous improvement, and compliance to TC Values and The Code of Conduct.
  • Actively participate in development of standard work practices.
  • Collaborate with Plant Shift Supervisors to plan shift activities related to safety, crew scheduling, and performance to ensure production, quality, and performance standards are met.
  • Ensure department managers are updated and apprised of all matters affecting morale, staffing, productivity, quality, equipment failures, etc.
  • Communicate equipment malfunctions for corrective action.
  • Support and guide team members on troubleshooting production issues.
  • Approve production samples/tear sheets together with QC team and ensure quality is consistent throughout the run.
  • Maintain and ensure tooling inventory (bridge mandrels, anilox, sleeves) is available and in good working condition. Provide notification when tools need maintenance/replacement.
  • Coordinate with support crews (warehouse, anilox/parts cleaners, mounting dept., ink dept.) to ensure material, supplies, and tooling are staged and ready for Press.
  • Maintain constant plant readiness for all regulatory and certification audits.
  • Oversee trials and new business scale-ups to ensure successful onboarding and development of new business.
  • Certify production paperwork and data entry is accurate, useful, and retained appropriately.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team in support of fair consistent performance evaluations and development opportunities.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects and opportunities to reduce costs and improve productivity.
  • Assist in root cause investigations and help develop corrective actions to improve quality.
  • Develop and maintain effective training programs for all shift positions.
  • Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings.
  • Other tasks or duties may be assigned by your manager/supervisor as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent, with vocational degree/certificate or equivalent work experience in Flexography.
  • Minimum of five years manufacturing experience with in-depth knowledge of Flexography and Flexible Packaging.
  • Two years experience in a Supervisory or Team Leader role.
