Job summary

Western States Envelope & Label is seeking a second-shift press operator in Butler, WI. The role focuses on setting up a two-color printing press, inspecting output, and ensuring accurate printing, labeling, and packaging of envelopes.

Qualifications

• Offset printing experience is required.
• Strong mechanical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good manual dexterity and visual inspection abilities.
• Ability to analyze machine operations and identify issues.
• Able to stand for the full shift and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up a two-color printing press before production.
• Visually inspect printed products and separate envelopes as needed.
• Maintain accurate counts of envelopes packed into boxes, cartons, and skids.
• Pack envelopes neatly while keeping pace with machine speed.
• Load envelopes into the machine feeder.
• Inspect orders to ensure accurate printing, labeling, and packaging.
• Clear paper jams and perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Adjust ink and water roller pressures to maintain print quality.
• Keep the press and surrounding work area clean and organized per Lean standards.

Sensory requirements are tactile/touch with hands and digits, near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Reasoning, mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills for appropriate operations of the equipment.
