Northrop Grumman’s Strategic Counterintelligence and Insider Threat Detection Team is seeking an Insider Threat Cyber Intelligence Analyst to support the corporate insider threat program. This role will be responsible for proactively identifying, analyzing, investigating, and mitigating insider risk to safeguard the company's intellectual property, networks, and personnel from a variety of complex threats.

A successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of security principles, data analysis techniques, and counterintelligence concepts, coupled with the ability to work collaboratively across various departments at every level. This position demands a high degree of discretion, professionalism, and adherence to strict confidentiality guidelines due to the sensitive nature of the information handled.

The position requires a detail oriented, creative problem solver with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong interdisciplinary background in intelligence/counterintelligence analysis and personnel security / background / criminal investigations. The Insider Threat Cyber Intelligence Analyst will make a meaningful impact on the integrity of a leading defense contractor's operations and broader national security by serving as a valued key stakeholder and subject matter expert bolstering our defensive posture against a dynamic, challenging threat landscape.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Pro-actively identify threats and unsanctioned activity through continuous user activity monitoring, behavior analysis, and multi-stakeholder intelligence vetting to make accurate determinations for coordinated response and escalation;

  • Prepare analytic reports, provide case management recommendations, and maintain case documentation to support investigations;

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Security, HR, Employee Relations, Ethics, Law Department, Privacy, Network Engineering, and within Cybersecurity in the development and refinement of program strategy; as well as, incident response, investigation, risk mitigation, and case management practices, procedures, and processes;

  • Communicate findings, risks, and gaps to both technical and non-technical program stakeholders at all levels in order to drive continuous comprehensive program improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years prior experience in intelligence or law enforcement, ideally in the areas of counterintelligence, intelligence operations, criminal investigations, personnel security, or insider threat OR a Masters degree with a minimum of 3 years prior experience in intelligence or law enforcement.

  • Must have prior experience leading and conducting investigations.

  • Must have experience assimilating and evaluating diverse sources of raw data to identify risk indicators, counterintelligence threats, and related vulnerabilities.

  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse organizations and individuals to gather information and support investigations.

  • Must have previous experience communicating complex intelligence or investigative issues to executive leadership.

  • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse technical and non-technical teams at all levels.

  • Must have ability to work multiple work projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and produce high quality, accurate work with limited oversight and input.

  • Must have experience adjusting to and operating in a diverse, challenging, and unpredictable fast-paced work environment.

  • Must have experience working on a cross-functional, remote, and/or geographically dispersed team with demonstrated comfort with collaborative technologies such as Skype, Microsoft Teams, and/or Zoom;

  • Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain at least a Secret level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic experience with digital forensic tools and techniques involved in investigations.

  • Ability to conduct analysis on case trends to identify underlying causal factors contributing to insider threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Familiarity with current insider threats and cybersecurity threats facing defense contractors and government systems.

  • Knowledge of data types and technologies relevant to insider threat detection and investigation management;

  • Demonstrated support for a positive security work culture and business enablement mindset.

Salary Range: $91,200 - $136,800
