Job summary

RTX Corporation seeks a skilled procurement professional to manage a high-volume desk and drive timely, cost-effective sourcing for hardware and services. You will issue RFPs, lead negotiations, and guide supplier performance across programs with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience. US citizenship is required for access to program data.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume desk in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and performance metrics.
  • Prepare and issue RFPs and manage the PR-to-PO lifecycle.
  • Perform price/cost analysis and place Firm Fixed Price, subcontracts and cost-type POs per FAR/DFARS.
  • Proactively manage suppliers to ensure on-time delivery with status updates and recovery actions.
  • Present root cause analyses and corrective actions based on metrics and supplier issues.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations (price, delivery, terms, scope).
  • Collaborate with Program, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Program Management to meet objectives.
  • Travel up to 30% and lead supplier onsite reviews.

What You Will Do

Manage a high-volume desk in a fast paced environment while consistently meeting accuracy and performance metrics

Prepare and issue RFPs and execute to the PR to PO lifecycle

Perform price/cost analysis techniques and place Firm Fixed Price, Letter Subcontracts and cost type POs in accordance with FAR/DFARS

Proactively manage suppliers to ensure on time delivery by obtaining accurate status, implement proper oversight and recovery efforts

Present Root Cause and Corrective Actions to leadership team based on metrics performance and supplier issues

Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations (Price, Delivery, scope, Terms & Conditions)

Work closely with the Program and other functional groups (Operations, Quality, Engineering, Program Management, etc) to achieve objectives

Travel as required (up to 30%) and lead supplier onsite reviews.

Qualifications you Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

Masters’ degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related field

Experience in working with development type of procurement

Experience managing a high volume, quick turn procurement desk

SAP based environment experience

Experience with technical requirements of procured hardware and services – including Statement of Work (SOW), build to spec and build to print procurements

Experience implementing/executing supplier recovery efforts

Experience with executing FFP and Cost Plus Fixed Fee contracts

Familiarity with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Demonstrated knowledge / compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)

Experience in written contractual authorization/vehicles (Cost Plus, Firm Fixed Price etc.)

Assess proposal compliance (FAR 15.4)

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
