Job summary

ASML in the United States (California, San Jose) seeks a Principle Software Engineer to own and drive the technical details of complex projects. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team across software, firmware, OS, desktop and web applications, shaping roadmaps and promoting high-quality design patterns.

Responsibilities include defining software roadmaps, enabling hardware-software integration, and coaching junior architects. Travel ~10% and base salary range provided by ASML will apply.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in .NET technologies, C# or C++.
  • Hands-on experience with WCF and WPF.
  • Hands-on experience in .Net, state machine, distributed, parallel programming.
  • 10+ years of experience in developing software with C#, .NET and C++.
  • 10+ years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and legacy systems.

  • Improve operational efficiency in product development specifically during early phases of development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to system design changes for manufacturability, serviceability, and testability.
  • Decompose complex problems and derive software requirements to propose a feasible solution.
  • Enable successful technical integration of hardware and software system solutions.
  • Drive adoption of best industry practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
  • Utilize OOD and design patterns to design and formulate modular software solutions.
  • Contribute to automated continuous integration pipeline to build, test, and release.
  • Coach a team of junior architects and be responsible for their deliverables.
  • Demonstrate open, clear, concise and professional communication.
  • Able to provide refactor solutions such that legacy and new systems can co-exist.
  • Able to do performance analysis, troubleshooting and technical support as needed.
  • Result driven-demonstrate ownership and accountability.

Principle Software Engineer at ASML play a critical role in owning and driving the technical details of the projects that would ultimately drive customer satisfaction. We are looking for an experienced engineer and technical leader with strong analytical, design and development skills, technical depth, curiosity, enthusiasm, integrity and being results oriented. You will be a key member of our highly integrated multi-disciplinary matrixed team of software, systems, applications and algorithm engineers. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience architecting large systems or system of systems in distributed environment
  • Experience architecting common software components across products and programs
  • Experience with software for complex mechatronic systems
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams using agile process
  • Experience with Python, Redis, SQL, machine learning
  • Experience writing systems software for any of semiconductor equipment, IoT devices, medical systems, robotics, motion systems, mechatronics systems, electron optical systems, calibrations, image processing, process automation, wireless, cameras or sensors
Other Information
  • Travel 10% per year to support software at our customer sites

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently: $202,000-277,750.

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
