Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise application platforms that support business needs and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Refactor and re-architect existing legacy middleware applications to align with modern architectural standards and business requirements.
- Develop and maintain middleware solutions to enable seamless integration between various enterprise systems and applications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define platform architecture strategies and roadmaps.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
- Ensure data engineering best practices are followed, including data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline optimization.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
- Monitor platform performance and implement improvements to optimize system efficiency and reliability.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in middleware, data engineering, and enterprise architecture.
- Hands-On Technical Guidance, Mentorship and Leadership:
- Actively participate in the development and deployment of middleware solutions and data pipelines.
- Write and review code to ensure high-quality implementation of architectural designs.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and debugging of platform-related issues.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to prototype and validate new technologies and solutions.
- Lead by example, demonstrating technical expertise and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Qualifications
- You are expected to write the first draft and lead by doing.
- 13+ years of experience in Software Product development with 3 years minimum of experience as hands on Principal/Engineering leader
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Architecting modern node-based applications (in Nest or similar modern technologies) with JavaScript/TypeScript expertise.
- Scalability and security experience.
- Proven experience as a Platform Architect, Enterprise Architect, or similar role.
- Strong expertise in middleware technologies (e.g., API gateways, message brokers, ESB).
- Extensive experience in data engineering, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and big data platforms.
- Extensive experience in reporting and analytics.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Solid understanding of enterprise application integration patterns, modular and microservices architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is $ 131,200.00 - 262,400.00 USD Annual per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
