Job summary

SIGNIA SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS PVT LTD is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to steer architecture for a healthcare platform spanning quoting, plan management, underwriting, and analytics workflows. You will mentor a large team and own end-to-end delivery, including AI-driven components and cloud infrastructure.

We expect 10+ years of distributed systems leadership, deep Kotlin/Java plus Spring Boot experience, and strong frontend collaboration with React/TypeScript.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and scaling production-grade web applications and distributed systems.
• Strong backend hands-on experience in Kotlin or Java with Spring Boot; comfortable on the React/TypeScript frontend.
• Has owned architecture and technical direction for a product, not only features.
• Experience leading and mentoring a large engineering team (48 engineers).
• Solid with relational databases (PostgreSQL), caching, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Familiar with AI coding tools and applying AI in products.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and technical direction across backend, frontend, and AI pipelines.
• Build and scale backend services using Kotlin / Spring Boot (JDK 21), Spring Security / OAuth2, Hibernate, MapStruct, and Liquibase.
• Build core platform features end-to-end for quoting, plan management, underwriting, and analytics workflows.
• Integrate AI where it adds leverage for document processing, classification, and an in-house agent framework.
• Develop and guide the frontend using React, TypeScript, Vite, and Tailwind.
• Design and consume REST APIs; enforce clean layering and DTO discipline.
• Model and optimize data across PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and Redis; optimize performance at scale.
• Lead CI/CD pipelines, Docker-based DevOps, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform/OpenTofu); enforce engineering standards.

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer with 10+ years of experience building and scaling production-grade, distributed systems. This is a technical leadership role on Redemption Health a healthcare and group-insurance platform spanning quoting, plan management, underwriting, and analytics workflows, with AI applied where it adds leverage. You will own architecture and technical direction across the stack, mentor the team, and ship.

Role & responsibilities

• Own architecture and technical direction across backend, frontend, and AI pipelines
• Build and scale backend services using Kotlin / Spring Boot (JDK 21), Spring Security / OAuth2 (PKCE), Hibernate (JPA + Envers), MapStruct, and Liquibase
• Build core platform features end to end quoting, plan management, underwriting, and analytics workflows
• Integrate AI where it adds leverage document processing, classification, and an in-house agent framework
• Develop and guide the frontend using React, TypeScript, Vite, and Tailwind
• Design and consume REST APIs; enforce clean layering and DTO discipline
• Model and optimize data across PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and Redis (caching)
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability under production load
• Lead and mentor 48 engineers; drive code reviews and engineering standards
• Lead AI-assisted development (Claude, agent-based) as a team force multiplier
• Own CI/CD pipelines, Docker-based DevOps, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform / OpenTofu); champion engineering best practices

Preferred candidate profile

• 10+ years building and scaling production-grade web applications and distributed systems
• Strong hands-on backend experience in Kotlin or Java with Spring Boot; comfortable on the React / TypeScript frontend
• Has owned architecture and technical direction for a product, not only individual features
• Experience leading and mentoring a small engineering team (48 engineers)
• Solid with relational databases (PostgreSQL), caching, and cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Uses AI coding tools in day-to-day work and is keen to apply AI in the product
• Product startup or healthcare / insurance domain experience is a plus
