Job summary

Hook is seeking a senior full-stack engineer (TypeScript) to own internal applications and platform end to end. You will work across React/Next.js on the frontend and Node.js services on the backend, deploying to Google Cloud or AWS.

You’ll own architecture, testing, deployment, and long-term health, stepping in as a technical lead on client projects when needed. You’ll design and grow back-end services, APIs, and integrations, while collaborating with creative, production, and operations teams

Qualifications

• Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JS tooling (React/Next.js)
• Strong Node.js backend experience with REST/GraphQL
• Cloud deployment on AWS/GCP; serverless, containers, and databases
• Experience with CI/CD, testing, and code quality practices
• Ability to lead architecture decisions and mentor teams

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and ship production full-stack web applications in TypeScript (React/Next.js frontend; Node.js backend)
• Design and own backend services, APIs, and integrations
• Deploy, operate, and monitor apps on AWS/Google Cloud; manage CI/CD, queues, observability, security, cost
• Own product areas end to end from discovery to deployment
• Collaborate with creative/production/operations to translate workflows into reliable software
• Integrate AI capabilities into applications
• Set technical bar with code reviews, testing standards, and documentation
• Act as technical lead on client projects and mentor freelancers
• Evaluate tools and approaches as Hook evolves
