A leading global financial services organization is seeking an experienced Principal, Treasury Operations to join its Boston team. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing complex treasury activity across a sophisticated, multi-entity financial platform.
The Principal will lead a team of four and have significant responsibility for transaction funding, liquidity execution, payments, banking operations, controls, and treasury infrastructure. The ideal candidate will come from a financial services environment and have experience managing large-scale, time-sensitive capital movements.
Responsibilities
- Lead execution of complex transaction funding activities, including drawdowns, capital calls, distributions, intercompany funding, bridge funding, and other capital movements
- Manage daily and near-term liquidity requirements across multiple entities
- Coordinate funding activity with Finance, Investments, Legal, Tax, Operations, and other internal teams
- Oversee high-value and time-sensitive payment activity while maintaining appropriate controls and approval processes
- Identify and resolve liquidity, settlement, and funding issues
- Manage relationships with banks, custodians, trustees, and other financial institutions
- Oversee banking structures, cash positioning, account administration, and related treasury operations
- Support treasury activity associated with complex investment and institutional structures
- Partner with Technology and Finance to enhance treasury systems, automation, reporting, and payment processes
- Maintain a strong control environment and support SOX, internal audit, and regulatory requirements
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of treasury professionals
- Establish scalable processes and operating standards as the treasury platform continues to grow
Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive treasury experience
- Significant treasury experience within financial services, such as asset management, insurance, private equity, private credit, banking, or another complex financial institution
- Deep experience with transaction funding, liquidity management, and treasury operations
- Experience executing large and time-sensitive capital movements across multiple legal entities
- Strong understanding of cash management, payment operations, settlement processes, banking structures, and treasury controls
- Experience with capital calls, distributions, drawdowns, intercompany funding, and transaction closings
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing treasury professionals
- Experience managing relationships with banks, custodians, trustees, and other institutional service providers
- Strong understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and regulated operating environments
- Experience with treasury systems, process automation, or treasury transformation initiatives is highly desirable
- Exposure to complex institutional investment or insurance-related treasury environments is a plus
- CTP preferred; CFA, CPA, or similar credentials are also valued
Compensation
Total Cash Compensation: Approximately $300,000-$400,000, depending on experience and bonus
Equity: Approximately $30,000
Schedule
This position is based in the Boston area and requires 4 days per week in the office. Candidates should also be comfortable with approximately quarterly travel to New York City.
