Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal/Tool Designer Modeler to join the Clearfield, Utah team. You will lead 3D CAD modeling, 2D drawings, and tooling fabrication support for aerospace programs.

Responsibilities include interface with review teams, ensuring manufacturability, and driving cost/schedule outcomes while collaborating with engineering and manufacturing to meet program goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting from 3D models.
• Design and fabrication of tooling and related equipment.
• Ability to evaluate vendor and equipment capability.
• NX CAD modeling experience and TS/PLM familiarity.
• Strong communication and leadership for project status updates.
• Commitment to design for manufacturing and cost reduction.

Responsibilities

• Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing to meet quality, delivery, cost goals.
• Design, model and draw support equipment for new and existing programs.
• Develop tooling concepts to meet customer requirements.
• Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with Tool Engineers.
• Monitor cost and schedule; review drawings for manufacturability.
• Implement Design for Manufacturing to reduce cost/schedule.
