Job summary

Target seeks a Principal Engineer to lead detection engineering across platforms, services, integrations, and automations. You will shape the technical direction, drive adoption, and mentor teams to deliver high‑fidelity, scalable detections against evolving threats.

You will oversee design, development, testing, and deployment in CI/CD environments, ensuring secure, resilient operations and effective collaboration with threat intelligence and security analytics teams.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated 10+ years in cybersecurity engineering, detection engineering or related fields.
• Advanced Python and software engineering skills, including APIs, data structures, testing and version control.
• Experience with CI/CD, detection‑as‑code, and DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for detection engineering, platforms, services, and automations across portfolios.
• Lead and validate engineering efforts to meet security, reliability, scalability, and performance requirements.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and operationalize scalable detection capabilities across complex environments.
