Job summary

NXP Semiconductors in Austin seeks a Principal Test Engineer to lead the creation and deployment of production-ready Automated Test Equipment (ATE) solutions for high-performance automotive processors, from concept through high-volume mass production.

You will develop test plans and programs for IP, design ATE loadboards for multi-gigahertz signals, and participate in PVT characterization and silicon bring-up.

Qualifications

• Experience developing test plans and programs for IP within a chip.
• Ability to design ATE loadboards for high-speed, multi-gigahertz signals.
• Experience in PVT characterization, silicon bring-up, and qualification.
• Strong data analysis skills to improve yield and reduce test time.

• Improve yield and reduce test time and manufacturing costs via DOE.
• Collaborate with analog/digital design, product engineering, QA, and OSATs.
• Oversee production release, define test limits, and handle customer returns.

Job description

The Principal Test Engineer leads the creation and deployment of production-ready Automated Test Equipment (ATE) solutions for high-performance automotive processors from concept through high-volume mass production.

Develop test plans and test programs for IP within the chip.

• Hardware Design: Design ATE loadboards for multi-gigahertz range.


• Characterization & Validation: Execute PVT (Process, Voltage, Temperature) characterization, first silicon bring-up, and IC qualification.


• Yield & Cost Optimization: Utilize statistical data processing and design of experiments (DOE) to enhance yield and drive down test time and manufacturing costs.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner globally with analog/digital design, product engineering, quality assurance, and offshore assembly/test subcontractors (OSATs).


• Lifecycle Support: Oversee production release, define test limits, and manage customer support or customer returns.
