Job summary

Danfoss seeks a Quality Technician to lead calibration, measurement traceability, and ISO 17025/IATF 16949 compliance at the Maumee Test Lab. You will manage calibration systems, perform audits, and drive continuous quality improvements across engineering, manufacturing, and lab teams.

Qualifications include 5+ years in quality labs, ISO 17025/IATF 16949 exposure, and strong RCA skills. Occasional travel for audits and training is expected.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in quality laboratories, metrology, calibration, or QA.
  • Experience managing calibration systems and measurement equipment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 and supporting IATF 16949 quality systems and audits.
  • Proficiency with calibration records, traceability requirements, and corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of measurement techniques, inspection tools, and testing equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead calibration program of Maumee Test Lab, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Administer calibration system: scheduling, tracking, and documentation.
  • Support ISO 17025 compliance through document control and corrective actions.
  • Maintain lab quality management systems and support accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinate external accreditation activities and audits.
  • Support IATF 16949 compliance through audits and RCA initiatives.
  • Conduct internal audits and address findings promptly.
  • Maintain calibration records, equipment histories, and data.
  • Review data for accuracy and procedural compliance.
  • Investigate nonconformances and implement CAPAs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and lab teams.
  • Support MSA, Gauge R&R, SPC, 5S, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Occasional travel for audits, accreditation activities, and training.

Job description

The Impact You'll Make

Reporting to the FC Divisional Global Test Lab Manager, the Quality Technician serves as the primary site resource for calibration management, measurement system compliance, and laboratory accreditation activities within the Fluid Conveyance business. This role oversees the Maumee Test Lab calibration program, ensuring measurement traceability, equipment compliance, and adherence to ISO 17025 and IATF 16949 standards. The position supports accreditation audits, laboratory quality systems, and the successful execution of testing and validation activities through effective calibration and quality management practices.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Manage and maintain calibration, verification, and maintenance of laboratory and inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Administer the calibration system, including scheduling, tracking, documentation, and completion of internal and external calibrations.
  • Support ISO 17025 compliance through document control, equipment management, measurement traceability, proficiency testing, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain and improve laboratory quality management systems and support third‑party accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinate external accreditation activities, customer audits, and surveillance assessments.
  • Support IATF 16949 compliance through audits, corrective actions, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct internal audits, assist with external audits, and ensure timely resolution of findings.
  • Maintain calibration records, quality documentation, equipment histories, and measurement uncertainty data.
  • Review calibration and test data for accuracy, completeness, and procedural compliance.
  • Investigate nonconformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and laboratory teams to ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.
  • Support MSA, Gauge R&R studies, statistical analysis, 5S practices, safety requirements, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Travel occasionally for audits, accreditation activities, and training.
Required Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in quality laboratories, metrology, calibration, or quality assurance.
  • Experience managing calibration systems and measurement equipment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 17025 and experience supporting IATF 16949 quality systems, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in calibration records, traceability requirements, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Strong understanding of measurement techniques, inspection tools, and testing equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a related technical field.
  • Internal Auditor certification (ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and/or IATF 16949).
  • Experience with accreditation bodies (A2LA, ANAB, or similar).
  • Knowledge of MSA, SPC, Gauge R&R, and statistical quality tools.
  • ASQ CQT, CCT, or similar certification.
  • Experience with LIMS, calibration management, or electronic quality management systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt, or similar continuous improvement training.
