Job summary

Vultr is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead strategic AI infrastructure engagements with our largest customers. You will translate complex requirements into actionable product priorities and work with cross-functional teams from discovery through deployment.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of GPU compute, high‑performance networking, storage, and orchestration (Kubernetes and Slurm) with enterprise-facing leadership and clear communication.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management focused on infrastructure, cloud computing or AI/ML platforms.
  • Deep technical understanding of GPU compute, high‑performance networking, storage and orchestration.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers to define infrastructure requirements and translate to product specs.
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML workloads including training, fine-tuning and inference at scale.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with engineering teams to deliver complex infrastructure products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product engagement and requirements discovery for Vultr’s strategic AI infrastructure customers.
  • Own discovery and definition of customer requirements for AI use cases including training, inference, GPU clusters and orchestration.
  • Work directly with strategic customers to understand timelines, workloads, and success criteria.
  • Translate customer requirements into clear product requirements, specifications, and engineering priorities.
  • Partner with engineering, networking, storage, and operations teams to deliver customer-ready solutions.
  • Drive alignment across customer needs, product roadmap and delivery execution.
  • Define requirements across GPU compute, CPU, memory, storage and networking, including Kubernetes and Slurm.
  • Support conversations on capacity planning, performance expectations, and acceptance criteria.
  • Help define scalable product capabilities beyond a single customer.

Vultr’s strategic customers often have unique and complex requirements across infrastructure architecture, performance, requiring close product engagement from discovery through production readiness.Vultr is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead product engagement with our largest and most strategic customers. This role will work directly with customer and cross-functional teams to understand complex AI infrastructure requirements, define solutions, and drive execution from early discovery through deployment and production readiness.

The ideal candidate combines strong customer-facing product leadership with deep technical knowledge across GPU compute, storage, networking, cluster orchestration, and large-scale AI workload infrastructure. They will act as a trusted product partner in Vultr’s most important AI infrastructure engagements, translating customer requirements into clear product priorities, technical specifications, and executable engineering plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead product engagement and requirements discovery for Vultr’s most strategic AI infrastructure customers

  • Own the discovery and definition of customer requirements for AI infrastructure use cases, including training, inference, GPU clusters, bare metal, managed orchestration, networking, and storage

  • Work directly with strategic customers to understand their technical needs, deployment timelines, workload patterns, and success criteria

  • Translate customer requirements into clear product requirements, technical specifications, and engineering priorities

  • Partner closely with engineering, infrastructure, networking, storage, and operations teams to deliver customer-ready solutions

  • Drive alignment across customer needs, product roadmap, architecture decisions, and delivery execution

  • Understand and define requirements across GPU compute, CPU, memory, local and shared storage, high-performance networking, cluster topology, and orchestration layers such as Kubernetes and Slurm

  • Support customer conversations around infrastructure design, capacity planning, performance expectations, operational readiness, and acceptance criteria

  • Help define product capabilities that can scale beyond a single customer into repeatable AI infrastructure offerings

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, with focus on infrastructure, cloud computing, or AI/ML platforms

  • Deep technical understanding of GPU compute, high-performance networking (InfiniBand, RoCE), distributed storage, and cluster orchestration (Kubernetes, Slurm)

  • Deep AI infrastructure expertise: strong technical knowledge across GPU compute, high-performance networking, storage, bare metal, and Kubernetes or Slurm environments

  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers to define infrastructure requirements and translate them into product specifications

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML workloads including training, fine-tuning, and inference at scale

  • Proven ability to collaborate with engineering teams to deliver complex infrastructure products

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences

  • Experience with bare metal infrastructure and managed cloud services

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred

Compensation

$200,000 - $230,000

Final compensation will vary depending on years of experience, background/skill set, location, and applicable laws.
