Job description
We Are Hiring
  • Department: Growth Marketing & Digital Experience (GMDx)
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 hour shift
  • Location: Remote
  • Salary: $146,730 - $204,532
  • Eligible for an annual bonus incentive
What You Will Do

The Ascension GMDx platform teams own Ascension’s portfolio of platform products including identity services, enterprise data services, platform services, design system, and developer experience from design to deployment. We aspire to be the place where Ascension development teams come for answers, a trusted source for data and services that empower our products and business leaders to create innovative health care experiences. Our collaboration with and outputs to Ascension’s other product teams shape their decisions and thus how our customers see, use, and value all of the digital products across Ascension.

At Ascension, we empower our product teams to solve hard problems – customer problems and business problems – in ways that our customers love, and that work for our business. These teams are cross-functional and durable, generally comprising a product manager, a product technical lead, and several engineers. We staff our product teams with the skills necessary to come up with effective solutions that are valuable and our customers choose to use, viable and work within the many constraints of our business, usable and our users can figure out how to use, and feasible and our teams have the skills and technology to implement.

While our product designers ensure usability and the engineers ensure feasibility, the product manager must understand the entire solution, constantly optimizing between different areas to ensure that our solutions deliver the maximum value over time. This means that the product manager must bring to the product team a solid knowledge of the various technical as well as business aspects, including marketing, legal, compliance, customer service, finance, and privacy, along with industry trends and the competitive landscape. The product manager must also provide a deep knowledge of our users and customers, and identify how to measure our customers’ engagement with our products. Finally, the product manager is expected to know enough about the technology to help make trade offs against other areas of the products, alongside their engineering counterparts. At Ascension, your efforts will be making a significant contribution to the vital healthcare communities that we serve. While each member of the product team may be accountable for a specific risk, we look for product managers that understand that consistent innovation is the result of each member of the product team contributing their passion and ideas. The product manager must collaborate closely with all members of the teams to discover effective solutions, and then work together to deliver those solutions to the market. While we empower our product teams to figure out the best solutions to the problems that need to be solved, we also hold those teams accountable to the results. Shipping is necessary, but not sufficient. We look for product managers that are not afraid of signing up for results, even when this means they have to work through others to achieve the necessary results. This job, as with the other roles on the product team, is an individual contributor role. You will need to be able to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through your use of leadership skills, data, storytelling, and logic.

We are looking for someone who is customer focused, relishes ambiguity and has a passion for innovating to create first-class products that deliver compelling customer and developer experiences. We are looking for someone who is curious, driven, and passionate about healthcare, interoperability, consumer identity and access management, platform integration, and the developer experience. If you are looking for a role where you can make a major impact by developing new platforms and launching new products that are driven by consumer identity and access management services, open up innovative business strategies, and empower compelling consumer experiences, we want to meet you.

As a Principal Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for identifying customer needs and strategic business problems, defining and driving development of our portfolio of Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) products and services from concept to minimal viable product to launch and delivery of the full product lifecycle, relentless advocacy for a frictionless consumer experience. You will contribute to help shape product portfolio strategy, align your product roadmap and deliver features to achieve the platform portfolio vision, strategy, and targeted business objectives. You will collaborate with product teams to define and support the maturation and roadmap for those products within your portfolio. You will work cross-functionally with other product managers, legal, compliance, security, business development, engineering and data science teams to perform technical, business and service feasibility analysis to drive product development and lifecycle management. You will influence your teammates, as well as stakeholders and key executives, through leadership skills, data, storytelling, and logic. You will be equally comfortable collaborating with a development team and presenting in front of executive stakeholders.

This role serves as the voice of the customer and business stakeholders, ensuring CIAM capabilities align with enterprise security, compliance, privacy, and operational goals. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of CIAM technologies, a proven track record in product management, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute and help shape the product strategy, align the product roadmap and deliver product features that drive measurable key results in support of the objectives of the CIAM product portfolio. There will be an opportunity and expectation to transform the end-to-end workflow, automating identity instantiation, enforcing IAL-2 identity assurance/verification, ongoing identity and access management service orchestration and controls, and providing oversight to all aspects of consumer identity lifecycle management.
  • Responsible for identifying customer needs and strategic business problems, as well as discovery, definition and development of product requirements and service definitions from concept to minimal viable product to launch including oversight of full product lifecycle.
  • Define and drive CIAM product strategy and quarterly roadmaps and OKRi’s via influence across teammates, colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through use of leadership skills, data, storytelling, and logic, while demonstrating ownership of the health and evolution of products within the portfolio.
  • Ensure the CIAM team is driving towards our vision and own the health and evolution of products within the portfolio through definition, instrumentation, and measurement of key product analytics and deep understanding of how the product delivers business goals including ownership, tracking, and reporting out on product initiatives and progress toward milestones via audience-appropriate metrics in multiple formats (i.e., team vs. manager vs. executive).
  • Work cross-functionally with business stakeholders, legal, regulatory, compliance, security, engineering and design teams to perform technical, business and service feasibility analysis to drive CIAM product development and lifecycle management and collaborate closely with all members of the teams to discover effective solutions, and work together to deliver those solutions to the market while ensuring CIAM products and policies adhere to relevant security protocols, user authentication/authorization standards, and are compliant with relevant compliance, security, and privacy regulations.
