Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a principal technical product manager for Special Projects within the Hivemind organization. The role covers autonomy development, simulation, testing, edge deployment, and the tooling that enables teams to move intelligent aircraft systems from models to operations.

This is a very technical PM role aimed at engineers, researchers, and internal teams building or validating autonomy systems rather than a broad consumer audience.

Qualifications

• Principal-level technical product management experience.
• Deep comfort with software platforms, robotics, autonomy, AI, or simulation systems.
• Ability to work directly with senior engineers on ambiguous technical problems.
• Strong judgment about what platform capabilities matter for deployment.

Responsibilities

• Define product direction across Hivemind platform components and Special Projects work.
• Translate CTO-level technical priorities into product requirements and execution paths.
• Shape tooling around autonomy development, testing, evaluation, and deployment.
• Work with senior engineering experts across robotics, aerospace, cloud, and simulation.
