Principal Technical Consultant, Geotechnical Engineer (Principal Level)

ERM is seeking a Principal Technical Geotechnical Engineer with experience in Civil or Geotechnical design to work with our engineering design team based out of Charleston, West Virginia. In this role, you will provide leadership and project support for civil, stormwater, water management, geotechnical, and related projects, serving clients locally, nationally, and globally. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects across various sectors, including electric power (solar, wind, fossil fuel), natural gas, manufacturing, and chemical industries.

As a Lead Project Engineer, you will leverage your leadership, client relationship, and technical consulting skills to support ERM’s growth, network with global technical teams, and share best practices. This role is ideal for a mid-level professional aspiring to advance into project management and business leadership within a global environmental firm.

Candidates from the following locations will be considered: GA, NC, TN, PA, MO, MN, WV, Washington D.C.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil, Geotechnical, or related engineering field
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam or licensed as a Professional Engineer
• 6+ years of progressively complex design experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience in preparing technical specifications and drawings
• Strong MS Office skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
