The Technical Architect is a customer-facing, strategic position within the Solutions Engineering organization. With a blend of business, technical, and sales skills, the Technical Architect acts as a domain expert who utilizes a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements. A Technical Architect helps our customers achieve a true omni-channel customer experience by applying their deep industry knowledge, understanding of data systems and integrations, and experience designing enterprise marketing solutions. Technical Architects help the sales teams develop and refine a customer-centric technical sales strategy and Salesforce-solution fit. Technical Architects are subject matter experts in categories including application architecture, data and information, integration, security, cloud computing, personalization, customer data platforms, distributed platforms, email, mobile, social media, digital marketing strategy, artificial intelligence, and analytics.

Responsibilities
  1. Be the trusted advisor to our customers, prospects, and the broader Marketing Solutions Engineering (SE) team.
  2. Work with solutions engineers to understand the customer's unique business challenges and conduct architecture and solutioning workshops.
  3. Develop technical integration approaches, including data flow and architectural diagrams.
  4. Develop customized presentations, demonstrations, and prototypes to prove the solution's business value to the customer.
  5. Orchestrate targeted workshops that drive technical approaches and best practices aligned with the customer's defined business objectives and priorities.
  6. Present Salesforce Marketing Cloud technology infrastructure, with a deep understanding of the company's platform capabilities, hosting infrastructure, security, and integration capabilities.
  7. Assist Solutions Engineers in transferring knowledge to ensure successful use of the solution.
  8. Develop and deliver ongoing enablement, helpful content, repeatable solutions, and tools to support the Solutions Engineering organization.
  9. Participate in product, sales, and procedural trainings and certifications to stay effective in the role.
Required Qualifications
  1. Strong understanding of digital marketing processes and experience developing data-driven marketing solutions.
  2. Four-year college degree or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency.
  3. 5+ years of proven consulting and solution design experience with customers.
  4. Deep understanding of the digital marketing landscape.
  5. Experience designing data flows for data ingestion, processing, and export across systems.
  6. Experience delivering presentations and demos to senior audiences.
  7. Facilitation skills for customer workshops.
  8. Excellent time management supporting multiple projects.
  9. Ability to configure solutions on the Salesforce platform.
  10. Interest in experimenting with new technologies.
  11. Understanding of enterprise software sales processes.
  12. Knowledge of web development languages and protocols: HTML, XML, JavaScript, HTTP, CSS, JSON.
  13. Experience with large-scale databases, ETL, analytics, and cloud tech.
  14. Salesforce Data Cloud platform experience.
  15. Knowledge of AI, machine learning, and generative AI concepts.
  16. Familiarity with Salesforce CRM, data governance, security, and integration.
  17. Understanding REST APIs, SDKs, and cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  18. This is a remote role with 25-50% travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience as an architect, solution engineer, or in a customer-facing tech role.
  2. Data Cloud and/or Agentforce implementation experience.
  3. Experience with data integrations and AI/LLMs.
  4. Proven presentation skills to senior stakeholders.
  5. Workshop facilitation expertise.
  6. Knowledge of enterprise sales techniques and data governance.
  7. Specialization in a particular industry or market segment.
