Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) is seeking a Principal Systems Integration & Test Engineer for our radar program in San Diego, CA. This onsite role requires active DoD Secret clearance and provides access to cutting-edge radar technology in a lab environment.

You will plan, execute, and document system integration and testing, work with Linux-based systems, and troubleshoot complex issues across hardware and software. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a STEM degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in systems engineering, data analysis, integration, verification, validation or system testing.
• Proficient with MATLAB, Python, Perl, Shell scripting and Linux/Unix.
• Experience testing hardware and/or software in an engineering lab.
• Strong networking fundamentals.

What You Will Do

• Assist in planning, executing, and documenting system integration and test activities for a radar program in a laboratory environment.
• Perform hands-on testing and integration of hardware and software, with a focus on systems running Linux-based operating environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues related to software, hardware, and operating systems under the guidance of senior engineers.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with systems engineering, data analysis, integration, verification, validation and/or system testing.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, Perl, Shell scripting, Linux, and/or Unix.
• Experience with hardware and/or software testing in an engineering lab environment.
• Experience with networking principles.

Qualification We Prefer

• Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and data acquisition systems.
• Experience working with modern radar systems, radar signal processing, and real-time systems integration.
• Hands-on expertise in electronic hardware configuration, software installation, and network setup for systems operating in String/HWIL facilities.
• Experience with String/HWIL test equipment, RF electronic hardware, and radar systems integration and testing.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+.
• Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Cisco Switch Configuration, clock synchronization (NTP/PTP), and shell scripting for integration, verification, and data analysis.
• Knowledge of system security concepts and tools in Linux environments.
• Familiarity with agile and DevSecOps practices, including participation in sprint reviews, PI planning, retrospectives, and experience with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
