Job summary

SAIC seeks an experienced Principal Systems Engineer to support modernization of space launch ranges at Vandenberg SFB, CA. You will provide system-level engineering for a cross-functional team and apply MBSE, agile methods, and rapid prototyping to enable Assured Access to Space.

You will author technical docs and advance digital engineering across the enterprise. Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering, physics, or math with 7–9 years of related experience and a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with nine years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with seven years of relevant experience.
• MBSE familiarity and ability to generate, analyze, and maintain a digital model.
• Experience with updating ground-based systems (RF, communications, telemetry) or virtualization of systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide system-level engineering support to a cross-functional team.
• Develop preliminary solutions to engineering problems of moderate scope.
• Identify and propose Digital Engineering practices, methods, and tools to address sponsor challenges.
• Apply agile acquisition, architecture design, system integration, and risk management principles.
• Use rapid prototyping and technical recommendations to inform capability requirements.
• Collaborate to advance MBSE and digital engineering across the enterprise.
• Author and maintain technical documentation (Requirements, CONOPS, Specifications, ICDs, test plans).
• Develop and document engineering processes and standards.
