Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (Software Integrator) / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (Software Integrator) for their Aurora, CO location. As a part of the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) team, an Integration & Test engineer gains an understanding of the Systems Engineering process across a product's lifecycle and gains a full appreciation for how the systems operate.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to complete tasks with little direction and oversight. They will be an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and customers. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for an Integration Engineer include familiarity with Automated Testing framework, software baseline deployment, testing and troubleshooting the environment, reading error logs, and coordinating corrections with the development team. Additional responsibilities may include an understanding of test plans, test procedures, test automation, test reports, and execution of integration test activities in System Integration Labs (SILs) or offsite locations.

This requisition may be filled at a higher job grade based on the qualifications listed below and may be filled as either a Principal or Sr. Principal.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD.
  2. Current DoD Top Secret at time of application
  3. Experience with Software Baseline Integration.
  4. Understanding of Automated Testing Framework.
  5. Basic understanding of Java.
  6. Familiarity working in a Linux environment.
  7. Understanding of basic Docker concepts.
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Masters; 3 years with a PhD.
  2. Current DoD Top Secret at time of application
  3. Experience with Software Baseline Integration.
  4. Understanding of Automated Testing Framework.
  5. Basic understanding of Java.
  6. Familiarity working in a Linux environment.
  7. Understanding of basic Docker concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  2. Proficient in Kubernetes: ability to debug services that run in cluster through command line and/or Rancher.
  3. Experience with deploying services via Helm.
  4. Experience with deploying services via Helmfile.
  5. Proficient with using Git for source code management.
  6. Ability to debug and problem solve when things don’t work out of the box.
  7. Experience working in a cross-functional agile team.
  8. Experience building and maintaining configuration.

Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00; Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
