Job summary

Elbit America, Inc. is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead requirements analysis, architecture design, and system-level integration across programs.

You will translate customer needs into comprehensive system specifications and develop master test plans. Responsibilities include modeling, cost estimation, verification, and mentoring junior engineers, with a focus on meeting schedule and budget constraints.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with 7+ years experience or Bachelor's with 9+ years experience
  • Within one year of taking position: ESD; Safety Training as dictated by Safety Department
  • Advanced DOORS requirements management training
  • Systems Engineering Simulation and Modeling concepts
  • Systems Engineering methods and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform requirements management, analysis, and allocations using DOORS
  • Conceptualize, analyze, design, and oversee complex systems-level architecture design
  • Perform modeling and simulation at the system level
  • Recommend tools to improve systems engineering design of a product and procedures
  • Develop systems specifications, master test plans, and other artifacts
  • Provide inputs into integrated master schedules and track program progress
  • Generate systems engineering artifacts in support of each program
  • Lead cost estimates to support engineering activities
  • Assist in verification and validation responsibilities
  • Mentor entry-level engineers
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job description

Job Summary:

The Principal Systems Engineer performs requirements analysis and management, technical planning, systems-level design, systems integration, verification and validation, cost and risk management, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Also performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, and requirements interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into systems specifications. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Ensure the logistical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Education, Experience/Knowledge & License/Certification:
  • Specific Degree Field Required: Aeronautical, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Software or Systems Engineering.
  • Master's degree plus 7 years' experience OR Bachelor's degree plus 9 years' experience.
  • Training Prerequisites (Within One Year of Taking Position):
    • ESD
    • Safety Training, as dictated by the Safety Department
  • Advanced DOORS requirements management training
  • Systems Engineering Simulation and Modeling concepts
  • Systems Engineering methods and procedures
Skills and Abilities:
  • DOORS requirements management tool suite.
  • Microsoft Office including the use of Excel and other desktop tools.
  • Microsoft Projects.
  • Systems-level analysis tools such as Mathlab or equivalent.
  • Systems-level block diagram capture tools such as Visio.
  • Other related systems engineering tools.
