Position

Principal Systems Engineer – Requirements & Verification / Integrated Functional Capability, located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Essential Functions

• Familiarity and understanding of system requirements (validation and verification) and interface control documents (ICDs), and statements of work (SOW)
• Support cross‑IPT development of system level requirements and use cases
• Support requirements verification methodology and traceability
• Perform requirements verification and sell‑off
• Work with IPTs to develop and execute program IFC plans and metrics
• Manage project execution rhythm, coordination, and reporting activities
• Familiarity with JIRA software tool (and/or similar) for issue tracking and resolution

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM field and at least 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 1 year of relevant military / professional / academic experience
• Must have experience in AT LEAST ONE aspect of aerospace Systems Engineering, including, requirements decomposition, test planning, requirements verification, integration, and requirements management
• Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) process
• Familiarity with JIRA software tool (and/or similar) for issue tracking and resolution
• Strong leadership, excellent communication, and strong presentation skills
• Experience with Agile Methodology
• Familiarity and understanding of system requirements (validation and verification)
• Experience in integrating hardware and software in a lab environment
• Experience with USAF programs
• Experience with technical configuration management (CM or Technical Baseline)

Compensation & Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 – $171,000.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
