Job summary

Camgian is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to lead the integration of modeling and simulation capabilities across Camgian’s product development lifecycle. This role translates mission needs into system architectures, requirements, interfaces, verification approaches, and MBSE artifacts.

The candidate will bring extensive experience in modeling and simulation, including realistic physics-based models, synthetic environments, and simulation-based test and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to systems engineering, aerospace, electrical engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
• 10–15 years of Systems Engineering experience on complex software-intensive, defense, aerospace, or mission systems.
• Experience developing architectures, requirements, interfaces, verification approaches, and integration strategies.
• Hands-on MBSE using tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM Rhapsody, Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Working knowledge of SysML/UML and linking MBSE artifacts to development, integration, and verification activities.
• Professional experience developing, integrating, or validating modelling and simulation capabilities for defense/aerospace.
• Experience with physics-based modeling of air targets, weapons, and engagement geometry.
• Experience modeling air/missile threats including UAS, aircraft, missiles, and related threats.
• Experience with distributed simulation environments (LVC, BLUE-on-RED) and interoperability standards.
• Proficiency with Python and/or C++ and collaboration with software/AI/ML teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering for modeling and simulation capabilities with traceability to mission and product requirements.
• Develop and maintain MBSE artifacts linking concepts, architecture, interfaces, behavior, requirements, and verification.
• Define and integrate simulation capabilities across the development lifecycle, including AI/ML model evaluation and system integration.
• Develop or oversee physics-based models of BLUE-force sensors/effectors and RED-force air/missile threats.
• Design BLUE-on-RED scenarios and scalable synthetic environments (LVC, distributed architectures).
• Establish simulation interoperability using DIS, HLA, and other standards; integrate with software, C2, sensors, and AI/ML components.
• Plan and execute model verification, validation, accreditation support, sensitivity analysis, and uncertainty characterization.

Camgian is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to lead the integration of modeling and simulation (M&S) capabilities across Camgian’s product development lifecycle. This role is first and foremost a systems engineering position, with responsibility for translating mission needs into system architectures, requirements, interfaces, verification approaches, and model-based engineering artifacts.

The successful candidate will also bring substantial professional experience in modeling and simulation, including the development and integration of realistic physics-based models, synthetic operational environments, and simulation-based test and evaluation. The position will work across software, AI/ML, systems engineering, test, and program teams to reduce technical risk, improve development velocity, and provide credible mission-level evaluation of Camgian capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related technical field
• 10–15 years of Systems Engineering experience supporting complex software-intensive, defense, aerospace, or mission systems
• Demonstrated experience developing system architectures, requirements, interfaces, verification approaches, and integration strategies
• Hands-on project experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering / Model-Based Engineering methods using tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM Rhapsody, Sparx Enterprise Architect, or comparable platforms
• Working knowledge of SysML and/or UML and the ability to connect model-based engineering artifacts to system development, integration, and verification activities
• Professional experience developing, integrating, or validating modelling and simulation capabilities for defense or aerospace applications
• Experience with realistic physics-based modeling of air targets and/or effectors, including representative kinematics, dynamics, engagement geometry, sensor/weapon behavior, and mission effects
• Experience modeling air and missile threats spanning UAS, manned aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, or closely related threat classes
• Experience with enterprise or distributed simulation environments used for BLUE-on-RED mission analysis, wargaming, test, training, or evaluation, including Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) environments
• Familiarity with distributed simulation standards and protocols such as DIS, HLA, or comparable interoperability approaches
• Proficiency with technical computing and software tools such as Python and/or C++, with the ability to work effectively with software and AI/ML development teams

Key Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering for modeling and simulation capabilities, ensuring simulation objectives, interfaces, assumptions, and verification criteria trace to mission and product requirements
• Develop and maintain MBSE artifacts that connect operational concepts, system architecture, interfaces, behavior, requirements, and verification activities
• Define and integrate simulation capabilities across the development lifecycle, from component and AI/ML model evaluation through system integration, regression testing, and mission‑effectiveness analysis
• Develop, integrate, or oversee physics‑based models of BLUE‑force sensors and effectors and RED‑force air and missile threats, including UAS, manned aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles
• Design representative BLUE‑on‑RED scenarios and scalable synthetic environments, including LVC and distributed simulation architectures where appropriate
