Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer - Mission Management (MM) Flight Dynamics Component Chief. In this role, your expertise in spacecraft dynamics and leadership skills will be essential. You will define program implementation plans, provide technical direction, and support system engineering analyses including trade studies, algorithm development, requirements definition, interface definition, and validation and verification. You will also support operations concept development and interface with other organizations, representing the program at technical meetings. The work is on-site in Aurora, CO.

What You Will Do
  1. Establish and maintain the program's technical baseline related to the Mission Management domain.
  2. Provide technical guidance to systems engineers, software teams, and test personnel regarding requirements and design.
  3. Develop strategies for program growth and support proposal efforts.
  4. Participate in technical meetings with program management and customers, representing the organization in mission management flight dynamics matters.
  5. Maintain active TS/SCI clearance prior to start.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM or related field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Mission Management Domain and spacecraft dynamics, including orbital and attitude control.
  • Experience leading engineering teams on large government contracts.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, functional analysis, interface control, and verification.
  • Ability to provide technical direction and clarify requirements to engineering teams.
  • Experience with Agile principles and practices.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Proficiency with Matlab and Satellite Toolkit (STK).
  • Experience in software development environments.
  • Experience leading Systems Engineering teams.
