Overview

BigBear.ai isseeking a Principal Systems Engineer (GEOINT Systems) to lead the design, build, authorization, implementation, and integration of a cloud native, cross domain system to transport large volumes of data in a wide array of formats from unclassified network domains to multiple classified network domains. The successful candidate will have multiple successes with cloud-native deployments where they provided leadership and support to operationalize software systems and a demonstrated background in multi-domain military intelligence collection and analysis.

This is a remote work position with occasional customer site visits in Reston, VA or Washington, D.C.


What you will do

  • Lead development and innovation of data processing procedures through enhancing data standardization practices and the refinement of delivery systems for a Cross Domain project.
  • Plan and execute software and model updates to ensure functionality of all required software components for the acceptance, parsing, and validation of all required document types.
  • Work with software, security and cloud engineering teams to ensure cloud environments are planned and configured to support filtering and sanitization operations of the CN-CDSS across all domains.
  • Ensure full automation of system builds and deployment across domains through appropriate DevSecOps processes making use of US government provided tools and commercially available resources.
  • Collaborate with the discovery, collection, and analysis teams to ensure delivery and integration of large amounts of data into US Government and Intelligence Community systems.

What you need to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical discipline with 8+ years of directly related hands-on experience OR a Master’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience OR A PhD with 6 years of experience; an additional 4 years of relevant experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree requirement.
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with intelligence collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination across multiple disciplines, including SIGINT, GEOINT, and OSINT.
  • Strong understanding of developing robust data infrastructure and delivering intelligence solutions to US Government customers.
  • Advanced understanding of GIS/Geospatial tools and techniques such as ESRI ArcGIS.
  • Advanced understanding of SQL, Postgres, Python, and Tableau.
  • Strong familiarity with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with large data sets and knowledge of the intelligence conflation process.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance.
