Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking a Principal Systems Development Engineer to design, implement, and validate complex hardware/software solutions and deliver critical infrastructure with partners. You will work across teams to solve real-world problems and raise performance and reliability standards.

You will coordinate testing, define system specs, ensure manufacturability, and optimize yield and test cycle times across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience in a professional role.
• Hands-on experience with system-level architecture and integration of rack-scale, data center, or globally distributed solutions.
• Computer architecture, software architectures & compute system design; Design for Manufacturability (DFM); Requirements management.
• Testing strategies; Root cause problem solving & troubleshooting.
• Cross-team collaboration & stakeholder engagement.
• Desirable: Experience integrating third-party/partner technologies.

Responsibilities

• Designs and defines system test requirements for complex customer systems manufacturing from L3 to L11 products for multiple market segments.
• Determine system specifications, interfaces, and working parameters across system and rack-level diagnostics for full hardware/software compatibility.
• Coordinate testing methodology of subsystems into complete rack-level systems that meet performance, quality, and manufacturability requirements.
• Ensures the manufacturability of designs and documents Test Requirements for manufacturing; identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies.
• Conduct analysis across all phases of development and sustaining in the manufacturing lifecycle; optimize First Pass Yield and Test Cycle Time performance and resolve performance problems.
• Applies deep, wide-ranging systems-level expertise across software and diagnostics to develop and resolve complex integration challenges.
• Directs the application of established engineering principles and guides the development of new methodologies for integrating Dell and partner IP.
