Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Principal Microsoft Enterprise Systems Engineer to lead design, modernization, automation, and operational excellence of enterprise infrastructure platforms. You will guide Azure, Microsoft 365, identity management, and AI-enabled engineering practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience.

Overview

Insight Global is seeking a Principal Microsoft Enterprise Systems Engineer to lead the design, modernization, automation, and operational excellence of enterprise infrastructure platforms. This individual will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for managing multiple large-scale infrastructure initiatives simultaneously while driving Microsoft's cloud, identity, collaboration, security, and AI capabilities across the organization.

This role blends enterprise architecture, Azure infrastructure, Microsoft 365 administration, identity management, automation, and AI-driven engineering practices. The ideal candidate is passionate about modernizing infrastructure, eliminating manual processes through automation, and leveraging emerging AI technologies to improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Infrastructure & Technical Leadership

• Lead the architecture, engineering, and delivery of enterprise infrastructure solutions across Azure, Microsoft 365, VMware, and on-premises environments.
• Manage and deliver 2-4 concurrent infrastructure projects while providing technical leadership throughout planning, implementation, and operational support.
• Define enterprise infrastructure strategy, standards, and roadmaps aligned with business and security objectives.
• Partner with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership to drive enterprise modernization initiatives.

Identity & Access Management

• Lead enterprise identity initiatives utilizing Microsoft Entra ID.
• Drive the organization's transition toward passwordless authentication and modern identity management practices.
• Design and implement Conditional Access policies, MFA strategies, identity governance, and Zero Trust principles.
• Support secure AI agent identities and emerging identity frameworks for automated workflows and AI-driven platforms.
• Ensure compliance with security and governance requirements across enterprise environments.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for Microsoft 365 technologies, including:

VMware & Hybrid Infrastructure

• Support and optimize a large VMware environment consisting of more than 150 hosts.
• Participate in long-term infrastructure modernization efforts that reduce dependency on legacy virtualization platforms.
• Maintain operational excellence across both cloud and on-premises environments during modernization initiatives.
