Description

V2X is seeking a Senior System Integration Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN supporting integration, ground, and flight testing of advanced airborne systems including avionics and communication systems, podded systems, airborne armament equipment, and alternate mission equipment.


You would be part of a collaborative team, who integrate next-generation avionics and weapon systems onto airborne platforms. You would represent V2X at integration events that are led by the Government and the prime contractor on the program. At those events, responsibilities include capturing and analyzing flight test data, troubleshooting any system issues that occur during the test event, communicating back to program leadership, and leveraging the Indianapolis-based team to root-cause any findings.

Required Skills:



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active DoD Secret (or higher) Clearance.

  • Ability and willingness for extended travel to support on-site customer test events at different domestic locations.

  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, requirements, and other engineering work products.

  • Knowledge and experience working with different electrical interface signals such as: Analog, Synchro, RS-422, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, and/or Ethernet.

  • Ability to understand and shape test objectives to validate system performance and meet contractual requirements.

  • Experience troubleshooting complex avionics and/or weapon systems including external interfaces and test equipment in real time when issues arise.

  • Experience as the direct customer interface to successfully plan, execute, and document aircraft integration events.

  • Experience writing comprehensive test reports documenting aircraft test events.

  • Experience supporting requirements development, hardware and software integration, and requirements verification.

  • Experience with design, integration, and verification of embedded hardware and software subsystems.

  • Demonstrated self-initiative and sound judgment to identify problems, conduct investigations, determine root cause, and coordinate solutions between stakeholders.

  • Excellent organization, communication, and project management skills.

  • Strong ability to be flexible and adapt to schedule and/or tasking changes on short notice.


Desired Skills:



  • Experience with US Government airworthiness processes (ex. MIL-HDBK-516, EDRAP) and certification boards.

  • Solid understanding of FAA regulations, standards, and certification processes.

  • Experience working with government customers including the US Army, US Navy, USMC and/or USAF

  • Experience with the fixed wing fighter/bomber community including wing and weapons bay integration.

  • Proven track record of collaborating with engineers, pilots, and technicians on flight testing projects including flight test plan creation, pre-flight checks, and post-flight debriefs.

  • Experience with telemetry and data acquisition systems for recording sensor data.

  • Experience with maintenance, installation, and integration of weapons systems including supporting ground and flight test.

  • Experience leading technical Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and/or Trade Studies.


Education Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline plus:

  • At least ten (10) years of related engineering experience supporting development or integration of complex systems.
