Role Description: The Commodity Supplier Assurance organization has an opportunity for a talented professional to join our team in a critical Supplier Engineering remote role within our commodity team as a Principal Supplier Engineer. You will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation.

What You Will Do
  • Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers
  • Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
  • Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
  • Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
  • Lead and conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
  • Lead evaluations of supplier requests for product and process changes
  • Manage product non-conformances; facilitate root cause investigation and corrective action
  • Support travel as needed. Minimum 25%
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8 years’ relevant experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, system engineering, manufacturing & quality systems, or technical supplier management
  • Experience in a cross-functional business involving multiple stakeholders (i.e. buyers, engineers, suppliers, program managers, and/or shop floor leaders)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Process/Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science
  • Existing Secret Clearance
  • Commodity experience related to Electronics, Engineered Items, Mechanical, Energetics, and Propulsion
  • Experience with design and development of products in electrical or mechanical engineering disciplines
  • Experience performing supplier assessments
