Job description

Brown and Caldwell, a national environmental engineering firm, has a new opportunity for a Structural Engineer to provide project leadership and technical proficiency in delivering high-quality designs for a portfolio of clients. We are seeking a motivated and achievement-oriented individual to take ownership of the structural design on projects and be accountable for the delivery of the structural team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop scopes of work and effort estimates for structural projects.
  2. Manage project teams, ensuring budget and schedule adherence.
  3. Design structures for tanks, basins, and facilities at water and wastewater treatment plants.
  4. Design industrial water facilities.
  5. Create designs for concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structures per CBC standards.
  6. Perform condition assessments of existing structures.
  7. Prepare detailed design sketches and coordinate with CAD/Revit teams for 3D modeling.
  8. Draft construction specifications.
  9. Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines.
  10. Support construction administration activities, including reviews and site observations.
  11. Utilize structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro, RAM, and RISA-3D.
Qualifications:
  1. Extensive knowledge of structural design standards for concrete, steel, masonry, and wood.
  2. Experience with infrastructure, heavy civil, and structural projects preferred.
  3. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  4. Strong seismic design background using various code analysis procedures.
  5. Experience with wastewater treatment or industrial facilities is preferred.
  6. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (structural coursework emphasis).
  7. PE license required; SE license preferred.
  8. Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Salary Range:

Starting pay varies based on location and experience, with ranges as follows:

  • Location A: $115,000 - $156,000
  • Location B: $126,000 - $172,000
  • Location C: $138,000 - $188,000
