Job description

We are seeking a talented Principal or Staff Python Engineer to help lead the Vizit Back-end Engineering Team.

In this role, you will be a member of our core enterprise SaaS team building and expanding Vizit’s first-of-its-kind visual intelligence platform and image analysis services that are already in use by some of the biggest brands in the world. You’ll have a leadership role in the development and growth of our API, the scalable and efficient data storage paradigms we’re developing, and will work closely with our UX Engineering and Design teams to deliver world-class experiences to the customers of our platform.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams in a startup environment
• Expert in Python with the proven ability to design and implement low-latency, high-availability, high-volume services and applications.
• Expert in efficient, secure, scalable data architecture and best practices
• Experience designing and implementing applications on top of serverless infrastructure
• 5+ years of AWS Lambda experience required
• 3+ years of Event-Driven Architecture experience required
• A proven track record of owning and maintaining complex software solutions and environments.
• Extensive experience speccing, designing, and implementing software solutions to meet business needs and opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills are a must-have. This person will work directly with other business units to refine project specifications.
• Knowledge of AWS tools and DevOps best practices.
• Experience with Automated Deployments & CI/CD (CDK experience is a plus)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Familiarity/experience with TDD.
• Experience with TypeScript is a plus.
• Data analysis experience and exposure to ML and CV libraries a plus (Tensorflow, Keras, Torch, OpenCV, etc.)
