Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer or Senior Principal Software Engineer to join an Agile team delivering mission-critical software. You will design, develop, and maintain software across the full lifecycle, collaborating with software engineers and designers on CI/CD pipelines, cloud services, and Kubernetes.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years (MS with 3), DoD Secret clearance, strong OO programming (Java/C/C++), and

Qualifications

• BS or higher degree in STEM with 5+ years of experience, or MS with 3 years.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Experience with OO programming in Java, C, or C++.
• Experience with version control (GitHub, Bitbucket) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud services.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software designers in planning, design, development, and utilization of CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to Agile processes and work with an on-site Huntsville team.
• Develop and maintain software across the full lifecycle.
• Solve complex problems with innovative and creative solutions.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
