Job Summary

Principal Simulation Software Engineer / Sr. Principal Simulation Software Engineer – Level 3 or Level 4 – Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance required for start: Secret. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, integrate, and test simulation software for end‑user customers and business applications.
  • Architect and develop embedded mission systems software applications on a real‑time operating system.
  • Participate in the full software development life cycle including requirements, design, implementation, qualification, and delivery of software products.
  • Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams such as Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, Test Automation, DevSecOps, and Systems Test in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
Level 3 – Principal Software Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; or Master’s degree and 3 years; or PhD and 1 year.
  • Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Required programming skills: C, C++, or Python.
  • Experience with at least two of the following tools: Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket, Subversion, Bamboo, Jenkins, Gitlab, Sonarqube, Fortify, or Coverity.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance. Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to employment.
Level 4 – Sr. Principal Software Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; or Master’s degree and 6 years; or PhD and 4 years.
  • Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Required programming skills: C, C++, or Python.
  • Experience with at least two of the following tools: Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket, Subversion, Bamboo, Jenkins, Gitlab, Sonarqube, Fortify, or Coverity.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance. Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications (Level 3 & 4)
  • Strong understanding of C and C++ languages, including templates, memory storage, and compiler/linker details.
  • Experience or knowledge of Joint Simulation Environment (JSE), Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), or High‑Level Architecture (HLA).
  • Experience with Full‑Motion Flight Training Systems, AFSIM or NGTS simulated threat environments.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment concepts and tools such as Gitlab, Bamboo, or Jenkins.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Primary Level Salary Range: $93,300.00 – $139,900.00.
  • Secondary Level Salary Range: $116,300.00 – $174,500.00.
  • Eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long‑term incentives for senior positions.
