Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer Systems for its Aeronautics Systems team in Melbourne, Florida. The role focuses on qualification reviews, cross-IPT process development, and coordination with IPTs and customers for successful integration on military aircraft platforms.

The candidate will work with diverse stakeholders across distributed teams, leveraging Agile practices and tools to deliver high-quality systems and ensure program success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 5–8 years of systems engineering experience OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3–6 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and SAP access.
• Must possess a Secret clearance or higher (additional clearance is a plus).
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication across all management levels.

Overview

Northrop Grumman is looking for a Principal / Sr. Principal Engineer Systems to join its Aeronautics Systems team in Melbourne, Florida.

Essential Functions

• The Principal / Sr. Principal Engineer Systems will perform qualification certification reviews, develop cross‑IPT processes and frameworks, and coordinate with other IPTs & customer counterparts for successful integration and verification on military aircraft platforms in a fast‑paced environment.
• This individual will collaborate with several stakeholders across distributed teams (capability experts, developers, system integrators, system testers, etc.) to support the delivery of quality products.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5–8 years of experience in systems engineering, OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 3–6 years of experience in systems engineering.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program access.
• Well‑versed, skilled, and disciplined in system engineering processes.
• Must possess a Secret clearance or higher (additional clearance is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
• Previous or existing Program Access Request (PAR).
• Demonstrated technical leadership skills, decisiveness, and the ability to make sound technical judgments with limited information.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, JIRA/Confluence, and LRU qualification.

Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 – $147,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 – $184,200.00
