The Payload and Ground Systems organization within Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Essential Functions:
  1. Responsible for planning and evolving processes and infrastructure to execute programs supporting rapid capability maturation and deployment.
  2. Integrates development pipelines leveraging automation with test-driven development tools and continuous integration/test frameworks.
  3. Define and implement the build, deployment, provisioning, and monitoring standards for the program.
  4. Ensures implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage with automated testing for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  5. Work as part of an Agile development team to deliver end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management framework.
  6. Build and configure delivery environments supporting CD/CI tools using an Agile delivery methodology.
  7. Create scripts and/or templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and management tasks.
  8. Work closely with development teams to create an automated continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) system.
  9. Work together with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  10. Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure.
  11. Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on tasks.
  12. Contribute to the design of information and operational support systems.
  13. Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  14. Oversee the company’s security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  15. Evaluate application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, develop solutions, and implement them with the help of developers.

This position can be filled at either a level 3 or 4 based on qualifications as defined below as well as the interview assessment.

Basic Qualifications:
Principal (Level 3)
  • Candidate must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of application AND must be willing to submit and successfully pass a polygraph
  • Willing and able to obtain Security+ certification within 60 days
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of software development experience; 3 years with a Master's; 0 years with a Ph.D.; 9+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Comprehensive technical expertise in DevSecOps toolkits, including Ansible, Jenkins, Jira, Terraform, Git/Version Control Software, or comparable technologies
  • Ability to express technical information clearly at different organizational levels
  • Familiarity with API Security, Container Security, and AWS Cloud architecture, security, and management
Sr. Principal (Level 4)
  • Candidate must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of application AND must be willing to submit and successfully pass a polygraph
  • Willing and able to obtain Security+ certification within 60 days
  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of software development experience; 7 years with a Master's; 4 years with a Ph.D.; 13+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Comprehensive technical expertise in DevSecOps toolkits, including Ansible, Jenkins, Jira, Terraform, Git/Version Control Software, or comparable technologies
  • Ability to express technical information clearly at different organizational levels
  • Familiarity with API Security, Container Security, and AWS Cloud architecture, security, and management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CISM, CISSP or other Security Certifications (Required in first 60 days)
  • Favorably adjudicated CI Polygraph
  • Experience creating, developing, and implementing solutions to address infrastructure and security requirements.
  • Identify the needs for build automation, designing, and implementing CICD solutions.
  • Build or maintain CICD building blocks and shared libraries proactively for app and development teams to enable quicker build and deployment.

Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00

Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
